This birth is undoubtedly a significant blessing that Allah ta^ala has granted us. In appreciation of this blessing, Muslims have continually celebrated the Mawlid of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for centuries, expressing heartfelt gratitude to Allah for this magnanimous bestowal and profound blessing.

Allah has created beings in diverse forms and has manifested His favour among them in evident and observable ways. This extends even to places, times, and other occurrences within both the celestial and terrestrial realms. And He has elevated some months over others in virtue and merit.

Muslim narrated in his Sahih from ‘AbuQatadah, who said: A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the significance of fasting on the Day of ^Arafah?" He replied, "It will expiate for the sins of the previous year and the coming year."

The Mawlid celebration embodies the expression of joy for the birth of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and gratitude to Allah for the immense blessing of his emergence into this world. This is the essence and purpose of the Mawlid.

After the Prophet took this night journey from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa, he ascended to the upper heavens. The Prophet ascended to the heaven on stairs, called al-mirqat, in which one step is made of gold and the next of silver, and so on. 

After the Messenger of Allah ﷺ concluded his stay at ‘Ummu Ma^bad's tent, he continued his journey towards Medina. The Muhajirun (Emigrants) and the ‘Ansar (Helpers) received news that the Prophet ﷺ had emigrated from Mecca, heading towards Medina.

The birth of the prophet Muhammad ﷺ occurred at dawn on the twelfth night that had passed from Rabi^ al-‘Awwal, according to the most widely accepted opinion among the general public.

Ad-Dimyatiyy reported that the Sultan of the knowledgeable, the Egyptian Imam Jalalu l-Din As-Suyutiyy, may Allah have mercy on him, said: 'Indeed, the house, habitat, and mosque where the birth of Muhammad ﷺ is celebrated are surrounded by angels.

The Muslims spent the night before the battle in a state of peace and reassurance. During that night, Allah sent down drowsiness and tranquillity upon them, as mentioned in Suratu l-‘Anfal: ﴾إِذْ يُغَشِّيكُمُ النُّعَاسَ أَمَنَةً مِنْهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً لِيُطَهِّرَكُمْ بِهِ وَيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمْ رِجْزَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَلِيَرْبِطَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتَ بِهِ الْأَقْدَامَ﴿
