The Mu^tazilah’s blasphemous claim that "humans create their actions"

والصَّلَاةُ والسَّلاَمُ عَلَى سَيّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ أَشْرَفِ اْلمُرْسَلِيْنَ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ الطَّيّبِيْنَ الطَّاهِرِيْن

Among the biggest misguidance is the blasphemy of The Mu^tazilah in saying “the human creates his actions”, they have contradicted the verse:

﴾اللَّهُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَىءٍ﴿

"Allah is The Creator of everything"

(Surah Az-Zumar Verse 62)

The saying of The Mu^tazilah is blasphemy and it states that what the human does voluntarily is not by Allah’s will and power. According to their claim, only what the human does involuntarily is by Allah’s will. The people of truth believe that the actions of all the creation are created by Allah and acquired by the creations. The Mu^tazilah contradicted this and exited from the creed of Ahlu s-sunnah wal Jama^ah of the companions and those who followed them correctly.

Imam Abu Ja^far At-Tahawiyy says: 'The actions of the creations occur by the creating of Allah and the creations acquire it and this is among what 'Ahlu s-sunnah wa l-Jama^ah have unanimously agreed upon from the time of the companions up to his era'. He is not speaking about his own opinion, rather, he is talking about the creed of the nation, from the companions and those who followed them correctly and not those who strayed from them. The majority of the Muslim nation is on what the companions were on. The Muslims from the nation of Prophet Muhammad will always have the same creed until Judgment Day.

The majority of the people who claim that they are Muslims believe that Allah, The Exalted, is The Creator of everything, from the movements of the creations and their stillness and their bodies. Every entity that enters into existence is by Allah’s creating.

Those Mu^tazilah ended up belying the Qur’an, they belied several verses like the verse:

﴾قُلِ اللَّهُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَىءٍ﴿

which means: 'Say O Muhammad: Allah is The Creator of everything'. “Everything” in this verse includes the movements and stillness and the entities. “Everything” in this verse is not restricted to only the entities. Doesn’t a person say, I did something?! Action, movement, and stillness are something. A thing is not just an entity only. So much so that, both linguistically and religiously, it is said: “I intend something.” It is valid linguistically and religiously to say, “I intend something.” So, the intention is something and it is among the actions of the heart. Therefore, by precedence, the apparent actions, movements, and stillness are “things.” The verse:

﴾قُلِ اللَّهُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَىءٍ﴿

 which means: 'Say O Muhammad: Allah is The Creator of everything', includes the movements and the stillness which occur from the creations which are acquired by the creations and are created by Allah. The actions are created by Allah.

An even more explicit verse is the verse:

﴾هَلْ مِنْ خالِقٍ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ﴿

which means: 'There is no creator except Allah '. The verse does not say there is no creator of entities except Allah, rather, it says there is no creator except Allah and that includes movements, stillness, and entities. All of that is created by Allah, therefore, the truth is with 'Ahlu s-sunnah wa l-Jama^ah.
