What is Recommended to Say After Finishing Wudu’?
It is recommended to say after finishing Wudu’ the following: Ash-hadu alla ilaha illa lLlah, wahdahu la sharika lah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan ^Abduhu wa rasuluh. Allahumma j^alni mina t-tawwabin, wa j^alni mina l-mutatahhirin. Subhanaka l-Lahumma wa bi hamdik, ash-hadu alla ilaha illa ant, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk.

And among His signs is your sleep during the night and your pursuit of His bounty during the day. Indeed, in these are signs for those who listen attentively [with reflection and understanding].

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was born in Makkah in the year when the Abyssinian (Ethiopian) Abrahah tried to destroy the Ka^bah. Instead, Allah destroyed Abrahah and his army. At that time in Makkah, the people named years by major events. Therefore, it is said that the Prophet ﷺ was born in the ”Year of the Elephant”. It was the year 571 of the Western calendar.
